What is a domain name, and how do I get one? How will I benefit from having one?

What is hosting? How do I know what type I need? Can you provide me with hosting, or help me find it?

Web Hosting

Once your website is developed, you need a way to "go live" online. This is where hosting comes in. Technically you can even host it yourself, but this requires lot of technical know-how, not to mention money, time, and equipment. The most cost effective, simplest and secure way to do it, is to use a hosting service. We work closely with many hosting companies and are currently also developing our own web hosting services as well. (Launching in 2003!)

There are many things to consider when choosing a web host. Including...

• How much space is allotted to you on the

• Platforms available to you (e.g. Windows NT, Windows 2000, UNIX)

• Access to CGI-BIN , Cold Fusion, ASP, PHP, MySQL, and others

• Email services - Once you've created your website, you'll want to receive Email at your domain (yourname@yourbusiness.com). Not all Hosts are alike, and you'll need to consider their Email options. Pop3 services are generally what is desired.

• Statistics. You'll want to monitor how your site is doing... Your Web host should be able to provide you with statistics on how many hits you're getting, along with other information.

• Support. Can you reach a human being 24/7? By telephone, E-mail or any other method you may find convenient? Just as in any other aspect of business, technical difficulties are inevitable. When it happens, you'll want quick and effective tech-support. the right one.
There are many other aspect to take into consideration, depending on your development needs. What about credit card transactions, can I accept them on my website?

Secure Socket Layer (SSL)

Digital certificates encrypt data using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, the industry-standard method for protecting web communications. Not every hosting package includes this. If you need to transmit sensitive or private information through your web site, securely, such as billing and credit card information, the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) server enables you to do so. Using SSL, your customers will be able to fill out a form and submit it privately and securely over the Internet to your host account. In fact, many of your customers will not submit orders in a non-secure environment. Nor would you, most likely. SSL can be used in combination with various other options to secure, online shopping carts, order forms, etc.

Merchant Accounts

Merchant account processing services are provided by a bank or a third party processor (on behalf of the bank) to the merchant. These services include authorization of credit cards, settlement of funds through the bank card associations (Master Card/Visa), depositing of funds to checking accounts, merchant billing, and account activity reporting.

Sure!

We will work with any and all graphics, logos, photographs or other content that you choose to provide us with. We can also design a complete and custom corporate identity for your business if you do not have a logo yet or are just in need of a fresh look.

What about website maintenance? My inventory/content needs change frequently .

Maintenance Packages

We offer a variety of website maintenance plans, depending on your needs. If what you require does not fit into one of these agreements, we will work with you to create a custom plan that suits your needs. All of our design packages do include 2 hours of basic support per billing cycle.

We also offer you full service development of dynamic and interactive website's. This can include database driven sites and content management options.

Once you've developed a logo and web presence for my business, will I be able to use it for business cards or other printing needs? Can you help me to design those as well?

Branding & Logo's

Yes. We design the logo and work with you to create a complete corporate identity, if that's what you require. The logo is branded to your company exclusively. You are free to use it on any business cards, letterhead or other presentation as you see fit, and as it pertains to your business. We can help you to optimize those images and even to create the printed documents or other presentations that you need. You may not claim credit for the design creation itself.

Some of my associates have "digital business cards" on CD-ROM. What are the benefit of these? Do you offer them?

CD ROM Business Cards

Yes we do. We can put anything from a full multimedia presentation to a basic digital interactive greeting on CD ROM or mini-disc for you to distribute to your associates and prospective clients. We can provide an original of which you are free to make copies, or we can provide copies as you need, or in bulk.

Qualified Nonprofit Organizations

Yes we do. We at Digital Inque Design Studio are very active in our own communities and causes, and we subscribe to the belief that if you aren't part of solution you're part of the problem. We will provide gratis and/or discounted web development and design services, maintenance or redesigns to any qualified nonprofit organization. Costs are reduced or donated depending upon the applicable situation. Proof of not-for-profit status is required prior to any work being contracted.
